French Press

Temperature: 195-205°F

Water to Coffee Ratio: 14:1

Ground Size: Coarse (900-1200 µm)

  1. Add grounded coffee to the press (24g for a single cup)
  2. Pour hot water (340g for a single cup)
  3. Replace the plunger and wait 4 to 5 minutes
  4. Gently press down the plunger
  5. Pour and enjoy

For your next cup adjust the temperature, grind size and ratio to preference and repeat.

Tip: Stir the coffee halfway through steeping time to extract flavors evenly.

Pour-Over

Pour-over and similar methods, such as Chemex, are the preferred methods to brew our coffee, as these allow for a balanced cup.

Tip: We provide recommendations for water temperature, grind size and other specifics about pour-over on each of our product pages.

  1. Prepare the filter by damping it with hot water, dispose of the excess water.
  2. Grind a dose of coffee (20g is a common dose for a single cup) and add it to the filter, gently shake it to level the coffee on the filter
  3. Bloom the coffee by slowly adding hot water over the coffee, then wait 30 seconds
  4. Start your next pour by adding hot water over the coffee
  5. Wait about 1 minute, and repeat step 4 until you reach the numebr of desired pours and water
  6. Serve and Enjoy

When pouring water start at the center and in slow circular motion moving outwards, then back to the center this action should take about 10 second to complete

Tip: Adjust grind size and water temperature to taste for your next cup

Cold Brew

Temperature: 32-100°F

Water to Coffee Ratio: 12:1 (10:1 for concentrate)

Ground Size: Coarse (1000-1400 µm)

  1. Add grounded coffee
  2. Pour cold water, steer gently
  3. Reset the lid
  4. Steep in refrigerator for 12 to 24 hours
  5. Steer gently and remove grounds
  6. Pour and enjoy

Tip: While it takes longer, cold brew results in a smooth and sweet flavor that's less acidic than most other brewing methods. adjust steeping time, ratio and ground size to taste

Drip

Use the Pour-over recommendations on each product description page for ground size and ratio; we recommend using the lower end of the grind size and slightly more water than pour-over

  1. Place filter and grounded coffee
  2. Add cold water
  3. Brew
  4. Pour and enjoy

Tip: We recommend drinking the coffee fresh and not leaving the pot on the burner as it will burn our coffee

Tip: To make the best drip coffee, ensure you clean your machine regularly. This will prevent a buildup of oils and minerals that can affect the taste of your coffee. Using SCA certified machines provide boom cycle and temperature control which helps brew better coffee

Espresso

Water to Coffee Ratio: 1:1 to 3:1

Ground Size: Fine (180-320 µm)

  1. Grind a dose of coffee (common dose is 19.5grams)
  2. Put the coffee into the portafilter
  3. Gently tap the portafilter and tamp it until is firm, make sure the coffee is level
  4. Prep the machine by purging water, then locking the portafilter
  5. Pull a shot of espresso, extraction should take about 30 seconds
  6. Serve and enjoy

Tip: Most portafilters have the recommended coffee dose printed on the side.

Tip: If your extraction takes takes less than 28s or more than 32s adjust your grind size slowly until you reach the desired time

Alchemy Steeps

Alchemy Steeps are a convenient way to enjoy Alchemy Harvest Coffee on the go, we offer a selection of single serve specialty graade coffee as a single serve steep

  1. Heat up 5-7oz of hot water 194 to 197°F
  2. Steep a single Alchemy Steep for 4 to 5 min gently steering it half way
  3. Remove the steep and enjoy

For Cold Brew

  1. Place one steep in a lidded mug
  2. Add 1-2 oz of hot water 195°F
  3. Add 4-5oz of cold water 32-60°F
  4. Refrigerate lidded for 12 to 24 hours
  5. Enjoy chilled
