Finca Granito de Oro
Nelson Urrego
Granito de Oro was born from family legacy. Nelson's father taught him to work the land and once promised to give him a ‘granito de oro’—a little grain of gold—as a reward for his good behavior. It became a dream for Nelson, though he lived humbly and had few resources, his greatest wealth was the legacy of experiences and the practice of strong values. That’s why he named the inherited land Granito de Oro, a place that preserves ancestral traditions, family heritage, and a deep love for nature.
Nelson is proud farmer by tradition and a third-generation coffee grower. Today, it’s a family project where, together with his wife and a group of women heads of household, they work every day with dedication to produce a differentiated coffee—one that reflects unique flavors and aromas and highlights the richness of the region.

A Colombian varietal known for its bright florals, citrus sweetness, and herbaceous complexity—often showing jasmine, lemongrass, and stone‑fruit notes. Thought to be a mutation of Ethiopian landraces, it thrives at high elevations with cool temperatures and rich volcanic soils. Originating in Urrao, Antioquia, it gained recognition after local farmers won national quality competitions, spotlighting its exceptional cup clarity and expressive aromatics.
